My 3 Must Have Pregnancy Products!
Running a beauty and skincare business means it's very important I trial, use and love the products I am promoting to others. Because of this I have a limited range of products I use, love and would recommend to anyone!
Being pregnant with my second baby I am lathering up the moisturiser more than I ever have before. I can already notice (at 20 weeks) my body moving, changing and of course stretching, with the added benefit of pre-existing stretch marks from baby number one who was a 10 pounder!! So here are the products I use, love and find are my go to's during pregnancy:
1. A good all over moisturiser
For me, my go to is this Baobab Body Butter!! Smells AMAZING, thick, creamy but fully soaks into the skin. No stickiness that you can sometimes get with a lot of other body butter's and moisturisers. Here are some of the reasons I love it:
Moisturises all day without stickiness
Contains high levels of antioxidants (BONUS)
Promotes softer, smoother, and more toned looking skin.
Enhances the resiliency of skin over time.
Baobab Fruit Pulp Extract (adansonia digitata pulp extract) — a natural humectant and emollient, this moisturising fruit extract reduces dry skin, improves the skin’s appearance, and conditions skin for long-lasting moisturising.
Shea Butter — a rich emollient that enhances the skin’s natural barrier functions and increases moisture levels.
Macadamia Nut Oil — high in monounsaturated fatty acids, this moisturising oil closely resembles sebum (oil naturally produced by the skin for moisture and protection), is easily absorbed by the skin, and helps maintain the skin’s water barrier functions.
2. Peel away too much "glow"
During my pregnancies I find I get a little more oily/have a few more breakouts than usual, especially in the early stages. So for me it's important to keep up a good cleansing routine. As well as my usual cleansing I will do a Facial Peel once a week and the AHA Facial Peel is my absolute favourite. It's very gentle so it's not going to remove your skin but it is going to give you an intense clean and help you to feel less congested. Added bonus, great for anti-ageing!
Here are some of the reasons I love it:
Promotes a youthful cell renewal rate.
Stimulates collagen production to diminish visible lines and wrinkles.
Chemically exfoliates to lighten surface discolouration.
AHA Facial Peel (Step 1):
Lactic acid—this aggressive alphahydroxy acid stimulates cell renewal and breaks apart dead cell build up. Chemical exfoliation works to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles, improve texture, and reduce the appearance of pores.
AHA Peel Neutraliser (Step 2):
Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract—rich in the antioxidant compound avenanthramides, this extract exhibits exceptional calming properties that soothe the skin and reduce topical sensitivity.
3. Be gone cellulite
As the pregnancy progresses further along I tend to gain a bit of water weight (well a LOT with Digby). This time I am being prepared and staying on top of the dreaded dimples with a Cellulite treatment cream called Dermatic Effects. It's a beautiful smelling cream, very safe to use during pregnancy and helps to smoothen out all those bumps. Great for the bum and thigh areas!
Here are some of the reasons I love it:
Contains ingredients that help inhibit fat production and stimulate fat breakdown.
Helps to smoothen the appearance of fat and cellulite.
Helps increase cellular turnover, which is necessary for renewing the skin and returning it to its natural radiant texture.
Leading edge optical technology diffuses light instantly to help skin look smoother and improve the appearance of the skin’s surface.
How I use the product:
I apply twice daily, morning and night to problem areas.
